My name is Morgan Mahar and I am so excited to be the new 5 & 6 math and science teacher! When I attended Grand Isle Elementary School as a child, I never imagined that I would be returning as a classroom teacher. However, after working as a paraeducator 5 years ago and a substitute since then, having a classroom of my very own has been my biggest goal. I have newly graduated from the State University of New York in Plattsburgh with my Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. I spend most of my free time outdoors kayaking, snowboarding, and hiking. My Great Pyrenees Molly will often join me on these adventures but prefers the snow to warmer weather. I also enjoy playing soccer, softball, and basketball and I often coach these sports as well. I look forward to bringing my love of the outdoors and STEM to my classroom while continuing to be a part of the Grand Isle community!
