Hi! I am Alexandra Lovejoy and I am very happy to be joining the Grand Isle family this year! I am going into my tenth year teaching and eighth as a kindergarten teacher. Kindergarten is my favorite!
I am a native Vermonter who grew up in Colchester. After high school I moved to Florida where I attended the University of Tampa and received my degree in Elementary Education. While at UT I was a research assistant to the Education Department Head and we had our research published on bullying back in 2013.
I was a teacher in Florida for two years at a National Blue Ribbon School before moving back to Vermont to be closer to my family. When I moved back I met my husband as well as started my Vermont teaching career at Saint Francis Xavier School in Winooski.
My husband Kenyon and I live in Burlington with our daughter and soon to be born son. When I am not at school I love to be outside with my family. We hike, bike, walk, swim, and sled depending on the weather. I even ran the Colchester triathlon a couple years ago! I love to bake sweet treats and I was a dancer for over 20 years. We will move and dance a lot in class!
