Awards were presented to two outstanding GIS French students during a late May French class for their achievements in the 2nd Annual VFLA Lost In Translation Poetry Contest. Both Logan Johnson and Tristan Remmey entered the 4-6 Grade French Division of the competition in early April, reciting a poem in French from memory.
Student performances were scored based on four criteria:
10% pragmatics
30% memorization
30% pronunciation
30% performance and delivery
Logan won 1st Place in the division, receiving a $50 cash prize. Tristan won 2nd Place for the second year in a row, receiving a $30 cash prize.
