Grand Isle School Band, Grades 4-6

Dear 4-6th Grade Parents:
I hope this letter finds you all well and settling into the routines of school!  Your student can participate in band this year!  In class, we have been discussing the various choices of instruments for the band.

There are MANY ways to obtain an instrument for your child to play.  You do not need to rent an instrument in order to participate in band, it is simply a convenience for families.  Instruments can be purchased (i.e. eBay, etc.), someone in the family may have one you can use, and I have a limited stock of classroom instruments if families need help obtaining an instrument.  If you want your child to be in band, please don’t let the cost of the instrument deter you.

Here is the  Ellis Music Company Price Guide, if you would like to use this option.

I strongly encourage all students to participate in band!  Science has proven that it is the ONLY activity that activates both halves of the brain simultaneously and makes the brain physically larger.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions, jochs@gisu.org or 372-6913.

Sincerely,
Jessica Ochs
